Description

Section 23 of the CDT in Colorado runs 28.2 miles from South Clear Creek to Halfmoon Creek. Along the way, the trail passes the Sheep Gulch Trailhead, Willis Gulch, Middle Mountain, Ervin Peak, Mount Hope, Quail Mountain, Twin Lakes, Hwy 82, and Mount Elbert (elevation 14,433), the highest peak in Colorado and the highest of the Rocky Mountains of North America.
